Just a girl with an otaku boyfriend

Hi everyone, I'm actually new to this forum....uhh...well...I've never actually been on a forum before but...I just need some advice on how I could be closer with my boyfriend ( who I love very much ) but....he's otaku and...well...I'm not.I'm fine with it and all. I just want to understand him a bit more and not feel left out.  If ..that makes any sense at all ;>_>

I dunno what there is to understand. He enjoys Anime and video games, it's just something he enjoys. You don't need to be an Otaku to understand him. Just try to show interest when he talks about his stuff even if you find it boring because then he'll feel like he can be more open with you I guess. Try not to criticise his hobbies or anything because he'll most likely just feel like a worthless nerd lol. Maybe try to find out what his absolute favourite anime is then maybe for his birthday buy him a figurine or limited edition DVD based on that show. Make sure he doesn't have it already though. ALso, try to take him out so he's not sitting at home all the time so he has a healthy mind and can differ between reality and fiction.
