Loneliness in the Morning

Name: Anonymous 2009-05-12 6:35

I sometmes feel overwhelmingly lonely. There are times when I don't mind being alone out of choice, but at other times I really want someone to talk to or share my thoughts with, but I have no one to confide in and there is no one there.

Also, my daily routine means that I have no one to talk to in the mornings. When I wake up I have a natural urge to talk to somebody, and with no one around I just leave the radio switched on in the background just so I can break the eery silence. Even if I'd like to go for coffee with someone or go out jogging, I have no one to ask out. Some days my phone never rings, while on the other days I do receive the occasional call or text message from the same couple of people.

Does anyone else on this board get very lonely in the mornings like I do and wish they had that special someone in their lives to talk to? Even basic everyday things like going out shopping or catching a train or eating lunch can become very repetitive and boring when constantly on your own.

No. I love it when no one is home and it's just silence.

Just log on to 4chan so you can talk to your friends (That's us!) anytime you want! There's no reason to feel lonely when you have the internet.

Same here, but change "morning" with "late at night".

You could always go on a webcam/chat site, I guess.  Once you get past all the emos and shit, there's some interesting people.

Chronic masturbation trumps loneliness.

But you feel lonely after you've cum. Chat sights help though - if you don't sit about complaining about how bad things are all the time.
This, go for the lulz. It makes you feel better.

How the fuck did I write chat sight instead of chat site...

I thought some do that on purpose. Like W.T. Snacks sometimes refers to his website as a "websight", and I've noticed older 4channers sometimes do the same. Must be a Something Awful thing. I wouldn't know 'cause I never paid my 10 bux. Speaking of Something Awful, is it still worth paying for a membership nowadays? Or has it gone to complete shit like so many other online communities?

I wouldn't know mate, If I'm not going to pay for porn I'm sure as hell not going to pay for any other sites

Eh, it's a one time charge, and 10 dollars is really nothing, but I'm not going to spend it just to find out if SA is complete shit or not. I agree on the porn bit, I don't pay for that either. ;-)

I've heard the mods there are extremely ban happy, sometimes for almost no reason at all, making it a more than one time payment for some users.
Paying for a website? How silly indeed

Yeah, same here. You gotta be careful at what you say. It's not a bastion of free speech I guess. But I'm more interested on the signal-to-noise ratio.

Just don't go to /b/ then...the signal to noise ratio isn't as bad on other boards.
I did like that one iteration of the .js spam fucked with 4chan.org's entry in the hosts file though, keeping those sort of people out. Shame it went on to destroy it completely with the botnet shit

Oh no, I wasn't talking about 4chan, I mean Something Awful.

I gathered, I thought you were considering going to SA because of the floods of crap threads in /b/.
I have no idea of how things are down there. Maybe some goon will read this and tell you

Well mostly because the idea for 4chan originated in the Something Awful forums, but years even before that when I first heard about the site I was interested in joining, but was put off by the 10 dollar entry fee. When I first discovered /b/ I know it way already too late. I knew that the newbies had overtaken the veterans long before my arrival.

Yeah, maybe so. All I really know that's going on is that Lowtax doesn't bother with the forums much anymore. Other than that I'm pretty much in the dark.

It's fine for providing lots of reading material written by people who mostly know how to write properly.  I'll often find out about stuff first from there.  I visit almost every day.  I don't mind having paid, though I resented it at the time, and still do a bit.  I also resent some bullshit, but I suppose with a forum that large there is going to be some bullshit anywhere on the net regardless.  Don't get sucked into posting often, because that gets you feeling too safe and you can get banned for something dumb like "misogyny" (which really is not a real ban, it just means you have to pay another 10 to reactivate your account.  "permabans" are far rarer.)

Thanks! If I do register I'll be sure to be careful when posting. I have heard it's kind of easy to get banned at SA. Thanks for the description.

Don't change these.
