What? They still could DDoS the site, whether it carries registration or not is completely irreverent. Also, moot is never going to make 4chan a "registration site", doing so would kill the idea of the site being an imageboard and its whole history of being an English branch off of Futaba.

I believe moot has said in the past that he would first let the site die before that ever happened. I'm sure it wasn't in those exact words but I believe that is his intention.
