I'd rather see a Futallaby based site or a Wakaba based site than a shitty Kusaba based one. Surprisingly, I still see imageboards being setup using that ancient Futallaby software. Which I have been told is "insane" and foolhardy to do.

I agree with >>2 though, unless your site is a niche board dedicated to something truly interesting, it's probably not worth it to setup. Imageboards as they stand now have basically pillaged most of the common topics you see and just adding an instant 4chan clone to the mix only adds to the noise.
