I'm just curious, is there any real way of escaping house arrest and removing the ankle bracelet? There always has to be some way and there has to be some weakness. Has anyone ever on house arrest ever removed their bracelet?

Chop off your leg and leave it in the house.  Gallivant around the country at your leisure.

Just make sure you remove the appropriate leg.  Otherwise you'll be one leg short, and they'll still be able to track you.
