Honestly it really does seem to me that if a girl likes you, there's far less that you can do to jinx your chances or being together with her and she won't be likely to get scared away for something trivial.
Also if she likes you, she will make it very clear that she does, or at least she will show it unconsciously. Like, staring at you for seconds on end instead of looking at you to then quickly look away, talking to you with a sweeter tone of voice and seeming a bit shy, letting you get close to her... practically-speaking, she's the one who makes the first move and guys just need to respond to these offers, when they get them.
Honestly it's very possible to try your luck and approach women, or talk to women online and at some point ask for a date even if they haven't exactly expressed interest beforehand. Even so if you do get to date her a bit, aren't you just setting yourself up for disappointment if she didn't make it very clear early on that she was interested? She sure thinks something like "Oh well I'm going to give him a try, why not, what do I have to lose?", but it's not like she's exactly enthusiastic about it, which shows in what happens next. Then you won't make it past the first date, or she will not discuss things at lenght with you, or she'll start flaking... so eventually it will lead nowhere and you'll just waste lots of valuable time. On the other hand if she really does like you, she'll be dying to give you her phone number and hang out with you, and it will show in her behavior with you!
In a nutshell it seems like a guy basically has to show his best self to other people in social encounters of himself and be affable, well-groomed and confident. But yet, at the end of the day that's all he can do, as he needs to wait for a woman to show that she's sexually attracted to him, so that he can then reciprocate. But if she doesn't show any signs of sexual attraction while talking casually with you then you can't make her sexually attracted to you from scratch. And if the sex isn't there then any kind of romance is impossible.
