Chinese people living in China while criticizing China = Any references (particular comments which criticize the Chinese government or government related issues) to this on the internet are deleted, on the media are blocked from appearing, any protests are shut down, and anyone who persists with criticizing the Chinese government are arrested, "re-educated", branded a traitor/Anti-China by other chinese people, and in the worst case scenario, dissidents are tortured and executed quietly.

Arguing with chinese nationalists all the day, I find myself repeating myself. And the reason I repeat myself is because they love to ignore the above message because it is convenient for them to do so. I call it the "The Imbalance of China vs Western World Views" and it should be obvious why.

So I'm offering you my copypasta, you'll need it in the future.

1) For the most part, is the message correct?
2) Anyone want to photoshop the above, maybe add graphics like big green tick, big green tick.. big red cross?
3) Instead of words, maybe you can even use images to communicated the message.

"... Because the majority says so" - Discussion of the flaws of "democracy"

When people say they like democracy, they say the like it because democracy serves the interests of the majority.

One problem remains: The existence of the "tyranny of the majority"

If there was a referendum and the question was "should [x] people have less rights than the majority [y]?"

And the majority decided yes, black people should have fewer rights than the majority or yes, women should have fewer rights than the majority.

This could also lead to other things like "yes, porn should be banned" or "violent video games should be banned" or "you are not allowed to be atheist"

And these things will be justified because the "majority" thinks so.

This is a fucked up democracy.

Democracy is or should be about granting everyone with equal rights.

NOT about using the power of the majority to lessen the rights of those who are perceived to be in the minority.

Since about 90% of any population in any country are stupid people, I think "tyranny of the majority" is a very realistic threat.
