So I was at the hospital today when a patient started coding with her blood pressure dropping to pretty dangerous levels. I ran over to the room with the rest of my team, but I don't usually have much of a role during these things. After they stabilized the patient, they were doing some work, placing orders, and whatever else they were doing, and I looked over and saw the newspaper, which had the story about the 11 year old kid that shot his dad's fiancee right on the front page. I started reading the article, opening it up cause the rest of the story was inside. Anyhow, one of the residents looked over and saw me reading the newspaper and got on my case for reading it in the corner of the room while the patient was actively dying. I'm not sure if she was pissed that I was reading the newspaper during a code, or if she was pissed that I took the patient's newspaper. I found it kind of funny, actually. I don't actually feel any remorse either.
