New York, NY, December 11, 2008 … YouTube has reached out to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for its expertise in dealing with hate on the Internet. In one outgrowth of that partnership, the League is now a contributor to YouTube's newly launched Abuse & Safety Center, where users are empowered to identify and confront hate, and to report abuses.
The YouTube Abuse & Safety Center features information and links to resources developed by ADL to help Internet users respond to and report offensive material and extremist content that violates YouTube's Community Guidelines on hate speech.
"YouTube is an incredible tool for sharing videos and giving individuals an opportunity to broadcast themselves, but like other social networking sites it can be abused or used for sinister and dangerous purposes," said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. "There are those who may try to exploit the technology to spread racism, anti-Semitism and other forms of hate."

They're trying to turn the Internet into a mirror version of television, in other words turn it into a wasteland of celebrity worship and wipe out all of it's potential as a medium for informing and educating.

Yeah I've already witnessed Youtube crack down heavily the last few months. I think any form of communication that can reach inside peoples homes (Radio, TV, Internet) has potential to educate people but it also has equal potential to misinform. Television obviously was co-opted from the beginning and has been a complete disaster, people welcomed it into their homes like an old friend but the friend became a teacher.
On the Internet anyone can say whatever they want, present whatever facts they want and then upload it for others to watch. Finally here's a medium which by it's very definition cannot be controlled, except it can be...
If someone makes a video saying "Most of the major media owners are Jewish, here are the names." Bang HATE, it's gone.
If someone makes a video saying Michael Chertoff is a dual citizen of Israel and he co-authored the Patriot Act, HATE it's gone.
No one ever has much of a chance to see it so they can't define for themselves whether it's hate, but if the moderator says it's hate then it must be hate, it's their job after all.
It's a four letter word that means absolutely nothing within the context of information, information is either accurate or it's inaccurate, whereas hate is an emotion. Facts aren't hateful, facts don't have emotional states, they're either true or they're untrue in which case they're not facts. Most people can recognize hate for themselves, they don't need a third party interpreter to decide what is "hate" for them in order to justify removing it from their field of vision to prevent them from being offended.
Isn't that what freedom is? The ability to define something for yourself rather than have someone else define it for you.
All speech is free except "Hate" speech, and we decide what is "Hateful" and what's not. Translation: All speech is free except the speech we choose to define as illegal. Translation: Not all speech is free.
So what happens now? People could keep posting these videos over and over again and try to overwhelm the moderators through sheer numbers, which is certainly possible if there are hundreds or thousands of people devoted to it. Either that or people must slowly begin to migrate to one of the video sharing sites that does not have any censors or controls.
So lets fight fire with fire and flood youtube with anti adl videos.

When something happens like the zog trying to teach our children the white guilt trip for instance.We could have 5000 white people ready to email that organization to let them know of our dissatisfaction against the proposal/s.Instead of the 2/3 or 20Wn at the most we currently get.
