shame?

For me shame is one of the worst parts about being a virgin (people wondering why i dont have girlfriend). This only contributes to the problem because the shame (guilt?) builds on itself. Does anyone know why someone would feel so ashamed of being a virgin? Is it just not meeting a social standard? I feel its more than that. If I could overcome the shame associated that would help my mental state a great deal in general in addition to probably being a positive step towards getting a slut's ass but I don't think there's a "solution."Im just kinda stuck at this point and don't know exactly how to react.

I feel a lot of shame and guilt for never having a girlfriend. I'm already treated as an outsider by my family, and my virginity affirms their beliefs that I'm not a member of the family because I don't follow social norms like having sex and getting married. Even members of my family who are just turning 18 are getting married and having babies.
