Christianity has been perverted to the point where it has basically convinced its adherents to not care about worldly things and what goes on around them. Basically it states that "no matter what happens, if you do good, you'll get into heaven, it's gonna be a better place, you'll see!". I can see why the United States is exactly in the shape it's in because of this.
The Founding Fathers I'm sure are spinning in their graves (especially Jefferson) at how much the USA has sunk into being a theocratic wasteland. EXACTLY the thing they were trying to avoid.
This is why I chose deism, where in I believe in a God as the supreme architect of the universe, but without all the dogmatic religious bullshit that goes along with it (it doesn't even involve going to church). Atheism to me seems to be too empty, but I don't care if people choose to be atheists, as long as they don't force that upon other people, much like the religious nuts do.
And that's all I have to say about that.
