anyway, i'm parked in a whip outside this soul food eatery, a late night joint that's right around the corner of this monday night jumpoff that was playing host to a fashion show.
he's yammering away, bent off a fifth of that yak, and pulls up on this caramel-colored dime that's strolling by herself. now, naturally, i'm thinking she's with someone, because a girl that looks that good doesn't just go out alone. but i never figured she'd be with a man, because -- again -- a girl that looks that good isn't coming out with her man.
well, i was wrong, because some guy yells ahead while my man is already pressing up on her. she actually seems receptive, eyes and smile reflecting surprising interest in what my boy was spitting.
to make a long story short, her presumable (i'm guessing) man interjects with his hands, pulling her away and confronting my boy. my boy tells him to slow down, apologizing for any unintended offense homeboy took to his advances upon girl.
regardless, apology aside, the "boyfriend" hits my boy. now, i'm inclined to jump out, but i have a few priors on me, and i'm already on probation that's due to end in just two months. i look over, see my boy staggering, only to have my jaw drop has he reaches from his back and pulls a handgun (dunno what kind, but it was loud), clapping dude.
there were, at least, two shots, one of which had to hit dude, as he was sent reeling back, with the girl screaming that he was shot.
my boy jumps in the whip, and we bounced, dipping past red lights until we were safely on a highway back to the "burbs."
what's CRAZY is, this dude is a fucking DOCTOR.
he's in med school, for christ's sake.
