You can countign by going "ONE TWO THREE FOUR FIVE SIXX SEVEN EIGT NINE TEN". Utitlizng fingers is not neceessarry, but is often considered helpful by people who are not gneiuses. This can be done by writing the wrods on each of your fingers one at a time and instead of saying the words out loud or in your head, you can just start with all yor fingers down and put up the figner with the word on it in teh same order.
It is psosible to count using other words like "ICHI NI SAN CHI GO ROKO NANA HACH KYU JOO", but that is just a mater of preference. No matters what words you use for numbers the numbers will still work. This is becuase math is a unviersal language.
