Having grown up in the 1990's, I always wondered why the 1980s was
such a forgettable period when it comes to taste and fashion.

Yeah, I was there and it was retarded.  I didn't bother dressing up and shit, and later I found out that I was "grunge" looking before my time or something.  I was into the independent and electronic stuff that people thought was weird but became mainstream after raving and Nirvana.
