working class bg + education = alienation

I know this is going come across as "wahh no one understands me", but it's actually a source of minor internal turmoil. My family is solidly working class, but financially we were fine, which was why I was able to go to university and learn about indulgent stuff like ancient greek vase painting and avant garde theatre. But now i'm some kind of no-man's land, where pretty much all the peers of the same socio-economic status don't appreciate the same things I do, because they either didn't go to university or took pragmatic subjects instead. Nobody in my family really cares about reading books or checking out galleries. But the people who appreciate culture here are a close knit community, upper middle class, and white. So pretty much I don't have a lot in common with people from the same background as me, but at the same time i don't really associate with people with the same interests due to class. It sucks because it's hard to bond with someone who doesn't have the same interests and i am sick of being SO LONELY :(
