What happens to your pets if you goto jail?

What will the authorities do to your pets if you get arrested and go to jail?  Since there's no one to feed or take care of them anymore..

If you don't have anyone else to look after them or can't pay to have them in a kennel, they get sent to the pound a die in 7 days.

Police routinely capture pets in this sort of condition, and they become part of the weekly BYOB party down at the station.  Roasted cat all sizzlin' on the spit -- now, that's good eatin'!
