carnival: the festival of meat

As Easter approaches, we have a meat blowout before going into suspended animation during Lent.  Clothing is worn of jerky, hot dogs are dipped into gin, and puppets are fashioned for the children.

According to Wikipedia it's some sort of religious thing.
