Really? Please inform me of the reality then. I don't know how it works exactly in the US, but people who deal pot do not always deal hard drugs, and even if they do, its almost never crack/heroine more likely shrooms,lsd,mdma etc. The people involved in pot culture up here in Canada are actually a nice lot, you wouldn't kill a man for pot, but you would for addictive hard drugs.
