Did you ever watch a person try to uproot a cactus?
Score: Cactus 9000 , Human 1
The cactus may be uprooted eventually, but anyone who does it is PRICKED for lifetime's allocation. (Then there's the Mycetoma. More on that, later .)
That is why cactus cannot be truly defeated. We shall overcome.

If you were wise, folks, you'd not mess with us.
We're prickly. This "anti-cactus campaign" has to stop, and nobody has to get hurt. Catch my drift?

The CACTUS AND SUCCULENT HOUSE, behind the back ORCHID HOUSE, features Rhipsalis species and Hatiora salicornioides, both epiphytic cactus, blooming on the far wall. Hoya carnosa cv. Compacta, hanging from the roof, is covered with Meissen-like flowers as fragrant as they are beautiful, and the foliage of the succulent Echeverias is especially lovely in a flush of new growth.
