Third version of /n/

Name: Anonymous 2008-03-02 21:32

In late 2006 or so, /n/ was resuscitated, this time as a news board. Initially moving at a glacial pace for the first few months, it began to pick up steam later in its existence, reaching 700K posts before being shitcanned by moot. As the third incarnation of /n/ matured it became a dumping zone where hardcore Democrats, hardcore Republicans, hardcore Libertarians, hardcore Independents, and hardcore everything else could whine, yell and scream about the same thing day after day. /n/ spawned one notable meme, "Not News Needs Pruning," which was usually accompanied by a black gardiner pruning a hedge bush. It was also a haven for tripfags, the most insidious being the Australian Invisible Sky Magician. By the end of 2007 and early 2008, a large percentage of posts were not news at all, but rather racial or political opinions, or /b/-tards posting nonsense. This was one of the most thought provoking and intelligent boards on 4chan. A board where literally ANY topic can be discussed and did frequently. It was it's own special community and everyone had a good time. Except the libfags and niggers.

Nice history. You are right that if you looked beyond the racist language and obvious troll posts it actually WAS an intelligent board with countless great discussions and epic threads. Also I believe I was the first Anon to post the negro gardener picture (fuck yeah).

RIP my dear /n/.

Moot threw /n/ under a train.

Don't change these.
