here's a recent approach i did, read and learn:
I spotted a babe all up in the cafeteria. At first I didn't have the raw nerve to go up to her.
She picked a table in the cafeteria and sat alone. I sat at a nearby table.
Then, I reminded myself I was A MAN, so I went up to her.
Me: Hi can I ask you something?
Her: Sure
Me: (Noticing her soccer backpack) Are you on the soccer team?
Her: Yeah
Me: Do you know where I can get tickets?
Her: (Explaining that you can buy them at the field)
Me: What's your name?
Her: Sarah (sticks out hand)
Me: I'm HolyG
Me: So what year are you?
Her: I'm freshman
Me: Oh cool, how do you like soccer
Her: Blah Blah its fun
Me: You live here in this dorm
Her: Yeah
Her: I don't mean to be rude but I gtg.
(She left the cafeteria)
She didn't really smile a lot...but she was nice enough.
