I dislike my family

So it was thanksgiving today.  My older bro, dad, step mom, and I went to my step mom's sister's place where we have spent previous holidays.  My dad remarried about 4 years ago after my mom passed away.  She currently wears the pants in the marriage and its so ridiculous how much of a pansy my father is.  She can tell him to do anything and he will concede.  If she wants a new car, she gets it even if we don't have the money. 

We, as in my bro, dad, and i, also lack sufficient social skills.

The entire evening felt awkward because we have zero social skills.  I blame my father for this.  I try to socialize but I have a lot of problems trusting people and expressing my emotions in a appropriate manner.  I feel as though my entire step mom's family despises us and I just know they were talking about us after we left.  You know how everyone gets real quiet as you are about to leave. 

I am seriously considering cutting myself off from most family gatherings to avoid the pain and awkwardness that we bring and I experience.  Every time I come home from college and I get more depressed than I already am.  I would love to just start over in a completely different city far far away.  I know I probably sound really shallow.  I am receiving psychological help currently and this will defiantly be brought up in my next session.

you are the only you ...dont worry about what people say or think because it just doesn't fucking matter...you have yourself, your dad, and your bro who gives a shit about your shity step mom...just remember that this is the only life you get so make it last and embrace who you are and if someone doesnt like who you are tell 'em to shove it up their narrow ass
