I'm a communist. I believe in equality. I believe classes should be abolished or at least changed. I believe that everyone should have equal access to capital and to the means of production instead of the upper class having a monopoly on it.
The industrial and agricultural workers should have equal social, economic, and political status as the people who exploit their labour. They are paid very little for the amount of work that they do. The capitalists refer to manual labour as "unskilled" yet don't do any of the jobs themselves.
How many people from the upper class have built roads and bridges, mined for minerals, harvested fruits and vegetables, transported goods, repaired automobiles and many other jobs? None, yet they take credit for it. The upper class does have some jobs to claim that only they are qualified to do though, such as doctors and lawyers. But this is only the case because they have a monopoly on the training to do those jobs.
Do you want to know why so many people are going off to universities and colleges to "become someone"? Because they see how little pay manual labour provides so they seek to exploit workers which is easier and offers much more money.
One last thing. Have you heard of the theory of class consciousness? How can most of these self-proclaimed communists who are from middle and upper-class families claim to be communists and sympathize with the struggles of the working class when they've never even experienced it? How can they claim to know our struggles when they've never done manual labour in their life? They're sitting on their asses listening to their popular music on their iPods, wearing brand name clothes from Hot Topic, following fashion trends created by capitalists, and driving around their Mercedes-Benz or BMW and saying they support communism. The communist parties of the world don't WANT your support.
