Lust and greed are like salt water. They appear to have something to offer. They appear to be able to quench your thirst. However, as you drink you only get more and more thirsty. You want more and more.
The sunlight tends to insolate areas known to be contaminated with other people. The assumption is that when so exposed, you are colocated with these other people. Socialization of Human entities then occurs.
