Porn is an addiction.

Now, before you flame and what not, let me clearly tell you the definition of "addiction".

•Addiction:An addiction is a recurring compulsion by an individual to engage in some specific activity.

Having that said, let me tell you a story. So, after school let out and summer vacation started, I was told that I was going to camp for 7 weeks. This camp has no computers, no girls, and is all guy camp for sports related crap. So, I viewed the last of my delicious porn from 4chan, then deleted all 1 gigs of my porn to prevent people from searching my computer will I was away. Here's where the porn addiction kicks in. After about 3 weeks in, I kept having dreams over and over of myself downloading all this great porn, I mean some really awesome kick ass porn, and fappin to it...then I'd wake up and realize it was just a dream(not wet dream) and notice I have 4 weeks until I could see my delicious porn again. The crave for porn continued for a awhile as I didn't get horny at all while I was at camp due to the lack of girls. Before I when I first started camp, I was an anti-social bastard. After camp was done, I was very social and actually had friends.

Finally, camp was over. I got home, and guess what I did. Downloaded 1 gig of porn in about 30 mins, and man I tell you I have never had a fap that good in years. it was ridiculously amazing. Then, when I looked at myself, I realised what a zombie I was. I told myself, how could I have ever even wanted to do all this?

I'm debating whether this is an obsession or addiction.

I'm not even sure if 'addiction' is a valid concept. By the definition you provide, all normal people have an eating addiction. Sexual abstinence won't kill you, of course, but humans are biologically driven to gain both food and sex.

It's clear that for many people, porn consumption becomes habitual. That is/was the case for you, as particularly evidenced in the way it invaded your dreams. The same happens/has happened to myself. I happen to be attempting to cut down my porn use/fapping at the moment. You all needed to know that.

My urge to fap fluctuates. When I was younger (around 11) I'd fap all the time. Now that I'm older, I can settle for 1 good fap a day. However, this does tend to vary.

I don't see how anyone can ever fap more then once a day. I've always only fapped just once per day. any more is too much, and your balls will shrink..and it will take a long time for them to return to normal size.

i've got much better things to do. still i find myself hoping that my next wank will bring down god to orgasm me.

and I always feel sad afterwards because it turns out this wasn't the time, again.

#1 defined addiction as a cumpulsive disorder, which is by definition, a behavioural disorder indepedent of psychoactive exogenous substance, and not a medically defined addiction.

Its a pretty healthy addiction if it is one. 

So is it really true that your want for a relationship goes down as you fap more?  I kinda want a relationship and the freedom to fap.  Or ideally, just plain sex, but theres so many ramifications if your condom tears...
