Among us are freaks of nature, whose freakishness may go unnoticed unless you happen to look in the right place. I'm talking about fingernails. Some people, and so far the people that I have noticed this defect are girls, some people have oddly stubby little fingernails. The nails may appear half or less of normal size on the finger (nevermind whatever excess grows at the end). It's as if their fingertips have been replaced by little toes.
If you haven't noticed this defect before, take the time to view others' fingernails. It may indicate something important in the genome.
