What's the best way to memorize shit?

Name: Anonymous 2007-07-03 21:39 ID:rLfchu7R

Halp me lounge, I need your halps.

Lately I've tried repetitive reading but I find that it takes too much time. I can practically remember whole paragraphs and shit but it takes -way- too long.

I need a memorization technique that decreases time but increases efficiency.

There's nothing known about that as far as I know.  Everything we experience is filtered from the start as far as memory goes.  As for facts and whatnot, it may be related to initial strength of a memory (association with emotion appears important, as well as association with other knowledge), and then rehearsal or activation of the memory over time.

Perhaps a fact that is trivial when first memorized and happens to never come up for decades may have neural associations that are less definite over time.  This kind of process is still not well understood in brain science.  One sentence from the wiki article Memory:   Long-term memories, on the other hand, are maintained by more stable and permanent changes in neural connections widely spread throughout the brain.
