Inflation? The price has gone down, and was never 500gp initially. It's much lower than that, and steadily declining, just like nearly every other item in the game aside from discontinued rares. Since it's so easy to use color-finding algorithms and application macros to find and click on certain things (ie trees, rocks, etc... sources of materials), many people "bot" and thus there's a surplus of raw materials in the game, which is why the prices have fallen.
Guthix armor is not rare. It's a common drop from level 2 clue scrolls/treasure trails, which aren't hard to acquire or complete. Also, this isn't really the best place to try and sell Runescape commodities.
