Apartments

So, Im thinking of moving into an apartment. 
One thing which bothers me about apartments is that I have no idea how the internet thing would work.  I mean, I imagine its like in college, with all the lines hooking up to a central hub... and they block the porn sites and torrents.
Anyone living in an apartment building want to share what its like?

some apartments will offer internet similar to a dorm situation- this will almost always suck ass and may have the sort of filters you're concerned about.  the vast majority of apartments, however, are totally autonomous, with the freedom for you to call up the cable company or whoever and have your own personal connection installed, just like you would in a house.

I wonder how many floors up do you need for a guaranteed death?  I dont think my plan of jumping from the fourth floor of my college is going to work...

fourth floor could get it done, just make sure you're head-down, don't want to end up as a quad and only wishing you could move your arms in order to kill yourself for the next 50 years.

Maybe if you twist your body during the fall such a way to land on your head/neck it may break? I dunno...

at least give it a try, what have you got to lose? im planning of jumping from the ground floor balcony but landing on my head so ill die.
