OK 4 chan. I realise that most people who read this will probably complain about me and this post. even the fact that I am telling you this is bound to cause someone somewhere to reply with something to insult me. go ahead and do that all you want. but Im trying to be serious here.

I also realise 2 things.
1. many people will read this and think im trying to be densha from densha otoko. I saw the movie and it sucked. the TV show was funnie. but i do not call myself otaku and I do not try and boost my anime fan rep by using fake loan words.

2.I do know that I am not the best at typing and I accept that. Its less that im bad at typing and more that when im typing i miss keys and fail to press the button down hard enough to input the command.

well here it goes

I am 18 and I dont have a job. I did have a job at the local comic book store I will call LWOW. When I was in 3rd grade I saw pokemon and I went insane. I began going to school and for the first hour I would only say the name of the pokemon that was on the "whos that pokemon" cut scene. this back fired when I went to a catholic private school in 4th grade.

I was teased horribly but i went through every day because I wanted to get home to watch toonami. when I got home my diabetic dad would always get angry at me for anymistake on my homework. he would sometimes make me do the homework before I watched anything. but because of my change of schooling from public to private i was behind and did poorly. I remember playing gundam alone on the playground every day.

I always had a friend named brandon who I would hang out with on occasion. other than that I had few friends if any.when i was in 7th grade I started reading manga dragonball at first then i moved on to other things. then in high school freshman year I began studying japanese with the hopes of moving there.

I never had a girlfriend. there was a girl who tried to date me but we broke up when I found out she used me.there was another girl who said she wanted me but i found her kinda well...... scarry mostly because she has had sex and she was 14. I also tried internet dating but she stoped talking to me.

I think my only hope of ever beeing happy is to got to japan. plese do not tell me that I dont know about japan. Im not going for the women. I want to go there because there Is a lot of things there that could better my life. If i had all the cool electronics games doujinshi models and figurines I think I could distract myself from my shitty life.

I feel that that is my only hope for happyness. but I also know it Is nearly impossible. right now i have a vocabulary of about 200 kanji. I started studying and momorising about 2 months ago. Im in japanese III class at the local college. but i dont think that will help.

My former boss who is half japanese has even told me it almost impossible to get a citizenship there. If i needed to I would save up money but first i need a job and I am working on that. I dont know how I could get there and stay there. going back and fourth between the U.S. and japan is not enough for me. If i did that I would just end up hating myself because I dont live there.I hope i dont sound selfish but that means Im only there for short amounts of time which gives me alot of time where would have time to think about this crappy life. I could only buy soo much stuff from each trip and the plane tickets would double the prices of the items.

how can I get there to stay? ive heard that if you have japanese employees it becomes illegal for you to leave japan and that gets you automatic citizenship. Is that true? are there any other ways I can get there to stay for life?

any help is greatly appreciated

What you can do is grow some balls and start hitting on church girls. They are into nerdy guys. Don't talk about anime or anything stupid. The first thing you say to them should be "lemme see those titties."

Long story short, three ways you can get into japan.

First one, is a working visa, get a job there and apply. You can only get paid within the description of said visa (each visa is for different stuff, artwork, business, or tech) I got my visa pretty easily, did some time then came back to Canada.

Second way, Spousal Visa, pretty simple, get it, extend it when it runs out. Works as long as your married.

Final way, and I'd extremely recommend against it is permanent residence. Live there for 5 years and fufill a few other conditions (you can googlefu this easily) you can apply for a permanent residence. You will be forced to resign your current citizenship however as japan does NOT allow multiple citizenships.

My question is why are you so insistant to leave where ever you are currently residing?

Could be, but I'm not going to mock him till I hear more. I went to Japan to teach English (needed cash badly, student loans suck) and lucked out instead of another country. It was allright, nothing life changing.

because there is nothing here for me anymore. ive lived for anime my whole life and i dont know any other way to live. it makes no sence to live somewhere that your heart is not.  also how do I get a visa?

Get a job in Japan, many ways you can accomplish it. Most require schooling, after that, use whatever methods at your disposal, the school set up the visa for me.

However, instead of bailing and setting yourself up for one fuck of a letdown if it doesn't work out. Work on changing yourself before you go, don't mean to sound mean but you have a pretty piss poor attitude and most managers will tear you to shreds at the interview. If you like anime, look into getting into animation, lots of opportunities in studios everywhere. Comic industry seems to be going in an anime direction as well.

If you have nothing to offer, there is the option of going overseas to teach english, however there are alot of places you can end up.

what kinds of schooling? how far did you get in japanese before you went?   how did you get hired?

comic as in american comics? or are you saying to do that when i go to japan?

how will the managers tear me apart?

I have a teaching assistant degree with a major in English on top of my tech degrees, I was in my third year of learning Japanese as an elective before I got the offer, however, learning the language was a moot point as the school provided a translator for me if I needed it. After that, I took the ESL course to teach overseas. Since I have my teaching degree I was given an opportunity to teach in Japan, otherwise, it would probably be either China, Singapore or Korea. The school that hired me did a video conference, asked me a few questions about my education, and took care of the tickets, lodging and the visa after I was hired.

In regards to comics, I was referring to american comics, I won't lie to you. It's pretty hard to get permanent residence in Japan, you will be viewed as an outsider and some places simply won't allow you in.

As for tearing you apart, I was referring to your "I wanna goto japan because it's where I'll fit in" mentality. It will take work, patience, and years to get permanent residence in Japan.
