Am I Weeaboo?

Dear /lounge/,
For a long time now I've been interested in Asian mythology, starting on Chinese mythology.  Recently, I've begun to try and learn the Japanese language, and I wish to move to Japan some day.  However, when a friend of mine recommended me to watch some Japanese animation, I couldn't stand it.  I just wanted to shoot the television when I was watching it.  None of it was realistic, and all of it was shit.  I had a better viewing experience watching Toy Story.  I still am aiming for the goal of moving to Japan and learning the language, but if anyone comes up to me and tells me about Japanese animation, I'll shoot them!  So I have two questions:  1, Am I a weeaboo?  2, Are guns legal in Japan?

>>1 I hate to be weeaboo-ish myself, but what did you watch, because, well, it's not all the same.
Hell, even /b/ has a list of the decent animes out there that they find acceptable simply because of the epic quality.
Most of these are the older/much older ones though, back when it wasn't all "OMFG I MUST TRAIN TO BECOME THE GREATEST WIUHDEIUAHFE EVAR AND OMFG SUPERSIAYNLVL 29204392854378 FIRIN' LAZERS FROM MAH EYES, PSST PSST PSST, HEADASPLODE, LOLOLOLOLOLLLOELOLZOALSAO\LOXZL\O MUST REACH NEW POWER LEVEL FOR 1337 NINJA SKILLZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111!111!1!!!1110NE"

I personally recommend Cowboy Bebop. If you still hate anime after that, then oh well.
Can't be helped.
And I don't think you're a weeaboo. A weeaboo is some pathetic person who's obsessed with anything and everything Japan.
Someone who goes to Japanese restaurants, JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE JAPANESE.
Someone who likes every anime and will defend it to the death, just because it's from Japan, and, "omg so awsum, lololololololl!!!!11" and shit.
You have a genuine interest in Asian culture and background. Most weeaboo probably know jackshit about the real Japan or Asia as a whole.
At the most, you're around the edge of weeabooism, but in disliking, nay, hating anime so strongly, you've secured your place there.
Hell, if you turn out to like some of the legendary epic old animes out there, you'll still be pretty unweeaboo-ish.
Yeah. Anyways, that's my input.
