Most colleges require a GPA of 3.0+ although there are some generic colleges that only require a GPA of 2.0+
4.0= A average
3.0= B average
2.0= C average
1.0= F( no college accepts 1.0)
so if you have a 1.0 by the time your applying for a college, that means you have failed the american life and your next stop is getting your GED(for people who dropout of highschool). If you get your GED, congratz, you are now qualified to work on air conditioners.

K-8th really doesn't even count too much. K-5th is just learning basics.5th-8th is getting you ready for high school. 8th-12th is getting you ready for college. and college 1st year-4th year is getting you ready for the business world; or whatever professonial job you choose. In England you can leave school at 16, go to a good university for almost free and get a Bachelor's by age 19.
