Is it possible to skip high school?

OK I had gone to high school but before that I was a very bright student (no, I'm not bragging.)  I don't think I learned very much overall in high school.  So for future generations (say when I have kids of my own), would it be possible for them to skip high school if they've proven themselves to be very intelligent and gifted?  And enroll them in a community college or university to take some classes then get a GED before going on to their post-secondary education?

I don't know much about where you live, but in Florida as soon as we hit 16, we can take free classes at the community college that count for both high school and college credit.

There are tests school-age children can take to qualify to skip as many grades as possible or grade school period. You'll want to ask your local school board about that kind of stuff.

Here in Indiana I am 17 (legal dropout age is 18)and Had to forcibly get kicked out of my regular Highschool and put into a bad-kids highschool in an attempt to get expelled since dropout was NOT an option, I was a very bright student but the route I have chosen to take in life does NOT require a high school diploma, and then I had to go get kicked out the bad-kids school so I could be a dropout and EVEN then I couldnt drop out so they let me become "home schooled" which means Im a dropout only its legal...

basically its possible but fuck it dude, lets go bowling.

Its a hassle to do, and now my plans are haultered until I am 18 anyways because of a shitty ass mother who now KNOWs my plans to succeed in life as soon as possible and refuses to even let me get a JOB *live 10 miles away from a gas-station, now unable to get license, you do the rocket science to figure it out*

if you live in a 16 limitation dropout state then it IS possible to do it at 15 or 14 I would imagine.
