Hey /lounge/,
I recently moved into an apartment with someone who has been here for almost two years (roommate moved out in December), and we kept an old (but not yet falling apart) set of dishclothes for the kitchen. No one remembers where they came from.
But still, I've washed them once before with my clothes, but they continued to retain a distinct odor (smells bad, like old grease) that won't go away in a washing machine. I just washed with with very hot water and dish soap/bleach in the bathtub and I'm having my roommate put them in with his next load of laundry.
If this doesn't work, would it seem like an ok idea to wash them by themselves in the dishwasher with laundry detergent?
I may just throw them away instead and have him get with me to buy a new set. I'm thinking it won't cost more than $40 for something non-Walmart-quality.
