1. Human (family, friends)
2. Intellectual (our knowledge, experience)
3. Financial (our money)
4. Civic (giving back to charity, leaving a legacy, etc. Normally can't have this until 1-3 is accomplished)

The following is asked of affluent clients...If you had to give up one of the first 3, what would it be? For most, it would be 3 - the Financial assets. The wealthy can always rebuild financial assets.

The problem with most most financial advice and commonly held opinions on financial matters, is that accumulating and preserving wealth is only built around financial assets. If you want to enjoy your money and have good reason to build it, keep all assets in perspective
