To Gove or Not to Give

Because /b/fails, I'll ask you guys.

OK, so I don't celebrate Valentine's Day.  I always figured being single on VD was like being Jewish on Christmas.  However, even though I don't have a signifigant other to give something to, I do have a couple female friends, a sister, and my mom.  Am I still somehow obligated to give them gifts?  Especially my mom, giving something to my mom on VD seems a little lame, but unlike my friends and sister, she's the type who would actually get offended at not getting anything.
