You keep using this word. Maybe I am. I give it to you, when I read LJ or chanchan camwhore entries I often catch myself thinking: " You fucking attention whores. Can't you just keep your need for attention to yourselves and don't post about it, like everyone else, like me? I hate you, I hate this world, as a kid I never received the healthy amount of attention and loving needed to become a healthy, independent, caring person, but I don't whine about it. I suck it down, like everyone else. Fuck you attention whores. Aren't you ashamed of yourself? Fuck you for not being ashamed of obviously and desperately seeking attention online, which is probably though the mentally healthy thing to do."

Now I do it too. It's the healthy thing to do. In a small journal, on lounge. Compensation for all the years I didn't yap and whine. Compensation for the years I thought that sucking it down and keeping it to yourself is the aristocratic and proud thing to do. I was wrong. I feel relieved when I write. If people reply, good, because I can always use input. If not, fine. I'm human. I need to vent. "Sue me", is what a typical LJ whore would say. Sue me.

You can end up as one of 3 types of men when you grow up.

1. The angry son of a bitch wife beater who kept it all in but can easily take it out on her because "she loves you." Nobody else would put up with your anger issues except her.

2. The repressed, "I have to be good to my wife because I 'love' her. A 'loving'(and/or Christian/other religious) husband can't show her that he's angry or upset or worse, 'hurt.' He must be stronger than that. Otherwise he is not a man." You know, the professional types. Usually they become job manwhores and think that money solves all problems and so wonders why his wife leaves him.

3. The logical and rational man who understands things for what they are, and has learned how to first express his dissatisfaction in a calm and dignified way to those involved, and begins discussions in order to find a reasonable solution. He then takes decisive action to improve his own life or the lives of those around him. This man isn't arrogant enough to believe that what his wife/girlfriends says is unrelated to his own happiness.

Well... I applaud you for not being an attention whore in real life (or maybe you are?) and for posting anonymously. Keeping a journal is okay if you don't try to create a reputation for yourself or get people to remember you for your "woe-is-me"ing, and as long as you only post in moderation.

I guess that's why I come to 4chan... On regular forums that have user accounts, people tend to judge someone not by the content of their post, but by the person who posted it, their post count, etc...

Heh, of course, we're men, we like to mix it up a little. Everyone will have their moments, but the reason I said it like that was to make one look more ideal than the other. In order to show which one is better to focus on. Repression leads to #1, and denial leads to #2 because they assume that openness is not necessary, they think it's in fact "wrong" to be like that.

I am somewhat of an attention whore in real life. I'm always talking, always telling jokes. But, I kept a journal almost daily as well, and it helped me understand myself better and how people saw me. It was a way to honestly express what I thought and felt. It was the opposite of denial, and it works wonders for keeping you away from becoming Mr. 1 or 2.
