How does the 4chanarchive work? Does it store all the pics that disapear from the Image Boards here?

Which 4chan archive? I know of rapidsearch.yi for a bunch of the rapidshare links and torrent files that make their way onto 4chan. There's also a flash archive for the flashes that are based on 4chan.
As far as I know, there is no archive that saves threads or the pictures in them. I think the FAQ states that they don't save or archive the images and threads on the imageboards.
