I figured out whats after death. Exactly what was before life when you werent alive (or born yet). Even if you believe in reincarnation or spiritual forms anyways, you don't remember it and those experiences are wiped regardless. You might as well not have existed in the first place.

Thank you ever so much for making that decision for me. The church has falling behind lately on telling me what to think and i'm obliged to you for trying to fill the gap.
What is truth?

Truth is a goddamned lie.

I've been rumored about a possible "God Module", a part of the brain evolutionarily engineered to believe in a higher being. It's like the bizarro version of the gay gene. What can this mean for the philosophy of humankind?

Truth is in the eye of the beholder... mearly everyone's opinion. We may see the color blue but that is only our brain's opinion on the light waves we interpret.
Life is abstract because we have tiny brains compared to the complexity of the universe. This is why I doubt opium influenced polititions of 2000 years ago+ know the answer to lifes greatest secrets.

So basically this is just a piss-wank thread that has everyone forcing their (religious) opinions on each other.
Congraulations.

lol LordRiordan still thinking about opinions. Duh, everyone knows that nothing is absolutely certain and our perceptions are imperfect. In order to have any sort of discourse at all you must accept certain basic assumptions, though. Otherwise you should just go meditate in a cave by yourself.

There is no god, therefore there are no souls.

I do believe that humanity does not exist.IN FACT,DID YOU KNOW THE WORD "EXISTENCE" WAS MADE BY A CAVEMAN OR EVOLUTION OF SUCH?

50: Yea, it's still an opinion shared by someone, else it wouldn't exist as an idea. Accepting basic assumptions doesn't negate an idea or 'facts' true form, which is that of an opinion.
51: Depends on your definition of God. There must be a 'creator' of the universe whether or not it is a force of nature or a 'being'. Either concept brings the question "Then what caused those forces" which brings you to the concept that 'it just is'. It would be funny if we are a computer simulation as that would explain it. :p
"Just is" is a funny concept because it sort of destroys the whole 'circle of life' idea that has been common sense. It shows that there isn't necessarily a 'beginning' nor 'end' which would further the idea that people or animals are pointless in existance. It kind of also feeds other theories such as an infinite universe or infinite span of time. Humans tend to categorize and generalize information which may not actually exist (such as calendar time).
52: Humanity exists around you. The second sentence doesn't make much sense to me but I think you are wrong.
45: I mentioned this earlier but your brain tries to make sense of almost everything... nature of the beast. Most things are far too complex for the average brain to comprehend and it most likely has some sort of fallback logic based on prior knowledge passed down by heritage (most likely religious things people make up to control other people) when it can't make sense of something (hence the millions of superstitions around). I believe these are defense mechanisms in order to help protect one's identity and self given purpose in order to satisfy the condition of wanting to keep breathing or to justify or excuse their existance.

Typoed my name LOLZ
I'd like to see anyone prove religion isn't the same as any other political movement... The only difference between religion and politic is that religion hides behind people's superstitious tendencies due to the reasons I explained in my above post.
Face it, they are the same thing. Someone that wants control of people and want people to act in a way they see best fit(or are derranged and actually believe in their superstition... which I can't really conciously relate to) makes up some philosophical booklet and passes it around like gospel and absolute truth. Look at any culture and you will find this to be true. Japanese... greek... muslim... american... It goes on. The similarities are amaizing and most individuals who can't see this are in denial... thats my conclusion after hearing the 'have faith' argument a million times or fall back on illogical defense mechanisms that are just laughable and pathetic.

Re 51: I also forgot to mention your logic is fallacious logic when I digressed. If there is no god, it doesn't have to mean there are no souls.

Japan? OMFG. You lucky... They have certain flowers in Japan that are absolutely gorgeous that you should check out. They only grow in that region I believe. Lots of things in Japan, it's an entirely different society.

what
Humanity exists around you. The second sentence doesn't make much sense to me but I think you are wrong.
it's just as planned
Humans tend to categorize and generalize information which may not actually exist (such as calendar time).
wrong, without the generalizaton of time we'd still be living in tight knit inbred groups of families. The reason people have different view as what time constantly takes the form as varies and is never finite.
It's funny we never get any visits from outer space anymore

What - In most instances when I have a good conversation with some religious person they fall back on illogical defense mechanisms or respond with 'just have faith'.
Last part - You admited they generalize information and months and days do not actually 'exist' but are measurements.

LordRiordan must feel inferior and weak.
He cannot prove himself anything else than a hypocrite. I mentioned this earlier but your brain tries to make sense of almost everything... nature of the beast. Pretty much proves it.
The Creator is a God whatever meaningless attributes you feel like giving it.

What the fuck are you talking about? I don't see a hypocritical statement in there. I said that when the brain can't understand something it makes up falls back on some stupid defense mechanism.
Don't be a tool.

Try explaining yourself. I don't know if you noticed this, but not everyone has the same thought processes as you do. No one is a fucking mind reader, explain what the hell you are talking about and how you got your ill-thought pompous argument. :p

>>1 Corollary: People with very late stage Alzheimers' are essentially "dead".
>>39 Feh. The soul is the effect of complexity, one might argue, so that to have a complex mechanism and produce the powers of decision-making is to bestow a soul upon the complex mechanism. The soul is intertwined with chemicals and electricity, and artificial brains will have souls, just as natural ones do, because of their complexity and their abilities.
