I'm wondering what is the maximum penalty for viewing child porn, like if you're just browsing the imageboards and all of a sudden someone posts CP and you fap off to it.

You usually don't get busted for using, just dealing. Notice how all the cp-offenders you see in the news for some reason have HD's full of HUNDREDS UPON HUNDREDS OF JIGGAWATTS OF SICK, SICK, CP. Jiggabytes, I mean. On the other hand, the FBI does have the largest CP collection in the world, so they may be planting it to bust people they don't like.
