Nails!

Who takes good care of their fingernails?

I just finished filing mine, which I rarely do. While I regularly cut them (with clippers, don't chew them any more!) I very rarely actually file them and bother making them all neat and tidy. Frankly, I don't really care what they look like, but little barbs and sharp bits can be kind of annoying.

Seeing as I have reasonably poor hands to begin with, due to many cuts, burns, a lot of manual work and general, well, usage, they're far from pretty, but it's nice to have neat and tidy nails from time to time.

So, how far do most people around here go? Simple chewing, clipping, proper care or full blown manicures?

I clip when they get long, but sometimes I let them go a while because I just don't care until people start commenting on them and shit.

I play guitar so I cut them when they start to interfere.
I usually try to keep them short and even.  Uneven they get on my nerves.  I never file them, I just cut off whatever is getting on my nerves.

I try to use nail clippers once they get uncomfortable. I used to chew my nails off but I've mostly gotten rid of that habit.

If I ever had a nail filer handy, I' just use it to get rid of the barbs and things at the end to stop myself from biting them off.
