It seems to me that these are widely frowned upon, and considered wrong. I think they're even illegal in some places. But I honestly don't see anything wrong with them.
Long Answer: They're widely frowned upon because that's how society is now. Women are treated more equally than they were in ancient times. Hell, even Genesis, the first book of the Bible has several instances of polygamy, most notably in the stories of Jacob with Leah and Rachel.
