I moved out of my parent's house to another state and am currently attending a community college for a little while. Well, I found out that they don't give out-of-state students scholarships (if you're under 21 you have to use your parent's address), AND they don't "participate" in federal student loans (I didn't know it was OPTIONAL!). Anyways, my question is about making me not out-of-state next semester. I thought maybe I would get my parents to put one of my grandmother's house bills in their name and use it as proof of residence (my grandmother lives in this state) -- something like that. That's all you really need, right? Have any of you done something like this before? I could probably get a free ride through the year if I were eligible for it...

Why go through all that trouble if you could just go to a community college in your own state? Then, you'd be closer to your parents, who might be a bit more helpful on this sort of stuff.

Don't change these.
