FUKUOKA — The Fukuoka District Court sentenced a former television reporter Wednesday to 40 months in prison for raping a teenage girl, along with another man in Fukuoka Prefecture in November last year.
Hiroyuki Kitamura, 29, a former reporter at Fukuoka-based RKB Mainichi Broadcasting Corp, had pleaded guilty to raping the 17-year-old high school student. Kitamura and Toshio Tashima, 39, who was given a 42-month prison term, raped the girl, who they had got to know through a cell phone dating service, at a hotel in Onojo, Fukuoka, on Nov 15, 2005, the indictment said.
