How important? Depends on who it is, my own current family sucks ass and treats me like the stuff that comes from ass. How much time? The less the better.
One of my own? Definitely. Once I get out of this hellhole of a city and job I have. Extended family? Nope. They all live on another continent. They used to send presents on Christmas sometimes, that was it.

My family is important to me because they are the only ones who will really care about me, no one else. I wish I was closer to the extended family but they are all over the world and I really should communicate with them more but whatever I am too lazy.
