Until there is proof that god exists, I will not believe he exists. You cannot "disproove" the existance of god because there was never any proof to begin with.
It is a waste to devote your live to an idea that has no basis, no bearing, no proof, and no point. God was created to plug gaps in scientific understanding; just look at the ancient greeks and their gods.
