why rar?

I almost hate to stoke a fire, but why do some insist on raring things?  I'd rather not pay for it when I can just zip things up and never have to reply to nubs since support is built into everyman's os.

I never use the rar format myself.

RAR is superior.

RAR has better compression.

Other than that, I don't know why many people insist on weird formats.

For example, I fucking hate software torrents that are released in .DAA format.  I mean, what the fucking hell for?   Alcohol 120% can't open it, It offers nothing over standard ISO except password protection, and it really just serves to annoy the shit out of me.

PROTIP: never forget to turn off your firewall and antivirus and antispyware software before running gens

just use 7zip.  superior to RAR and free.

My RAR works fine for years and I've never paid for it.  There's a single nag screen when you start it, that's it.

RAR > 7Z > ZIP
