I can't speak for everyone. But if one of my breasts was torn off in a car accident or ravaged by cancer, I'd seriously consider getting an implant to look symmetrical again. If half the skin was burned off my face, I'd leap at the chance for reconstructive surgery. Less so I could conform to societal beauty standards (though I admit, lacking in perfection as I do, that would be a factor), but more to just be able to avoid having it come up in every single social interaction I ever had for the rest of my life.
But like most things with a good core idea, along come the Patriarchs to twist and pervert toward the subjugation of women.

LOL, because, it's not the patriarchy, it's the matriarchy. If women didn't compete with eacher when it comes to looks, men would be fine with what they get.
And who the fuck populates jobs at the cosmo magasine and other mags like that... that's right... women... in their 20-40... producing inane material for other women. The chemists/researchers that develop beauty products... also lots of women there.
I basically agree with feminism, I hate the cosmo magasine, I hate unnatural beuty standards, but I also hate whiny "blame the patriarchy" feminism that makes women out to be passive victims of social dynamics they had no hand in creating. Yeah... whatever... women make up 50% of the population... they could turn things around if they wanted to... but most seem happy to be superficial and vain.
