Nerds like video games/anime etc. because they don't have anything else. These things are much more accessible, and really are fun when you get into them. They hate social stuff because they haven't been able to succeed at it.

Preppies, party-goers enjoy social stuff because they think that's all there is. They hate games and computers because it makes them "look bad" when really, there's plenty to enjoy in either side. It's the fools who take it to the extreme and think there's nothing else to be had and so miss out on it.

Let's all pick a flavor: chocolate or vanilla and eat it for the rest of our lives. Because the other flavor clearly just isn't as good.

I agree. Society has made it where if you aren't out socializing everyday, you look like the outcast kid. Honestly, What if im 100% happy with being by myself? But then again, let's look at it in another perspective. Some people are afraid to go out and socialize because they dont know how to interact with people(keep conversation going), so what do you they do to avoid all of this? simple. they dont interact with people. some may not admit it, but are afraid of rejection and what not. Anyway I'm a girl who's in the middleground of socialite and super otaku gal.

I only really party at convention raves and love staying home and popping in my fav anime, listen to podcasts, draw manga.

I do have a small group of likeminded friends to hang with and play multiplayer vidgames/ D&D/ watch anime with.

Its a good middleground. While I do like guys who somewhat classify as hikikomori (without the smell!) because I could break their shell for a bit of air. Plus everyone knows geeks and nerds that don't get any are actually hella better in the sack.
