There is the nerd that is seen on TV as being smart and that's fine.
Then there is the reality nerd of the 21st century. These nerds aren't smart , they may be computer savvy, but they are not smart. They play video games which makes them think they are superior to everyone else who doesn't play video games. Then they don't talk to girls because girls don't want to hang around greasy, dirty, nerds. This causes them to not know how to act toward the opposite sex and instead they sexually harrass girls.
A way of knowing who is a nerd is if they talk about internet jokes in real life that nobody else will get except nerds who are on the internet all the time. Then they also use leet speak. They also are prone to being anime fans and wapanese.
